This Wednesday the charges and precautionary measures were applied to a 70-year-old doctor for the alleged commission of the crime of aggravated rape to the detriment of a woman, a case registered in 2017 in the province of Colon.
At the Guarantees hearing, the Judge established a periodic report as a precautionary measure, a prohibition of leaving the country, as well as being prohibited from approaching the victim and their relatives.
The Public Ministry reported that “the Prosecutor Sadhira Ashby requested the precautionary measure of suspension of the license to practice the profession as a doctor based on the seriousness of the facts denounced. However, the Court of Guarantees did not accept this request of the MP, so the prosecution filed an appeal reiterating the need to suspend the exercise of the profession.
The Social Security Fund of Panama (CSS) reported that it separated the doctor's case and investigated what happened after learning of the alleged commission of the crime by the specialist doctor.
