Decree issued for sanitary measures in Panama and West Panama, some activities reopen February 1

In the Official Gazette, Executive Decree No. 66 of January 28, 2021 was published, by means of which the sanitary measures established in Panama and West Panama are maintained, and the operation of some activities in these provinces is authorized as of 1 February.
According to the Executive Decree, the total quarantine is maintained on weekends, from Friday at 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. on Monday, and the curfew from Monday to Friday from 9:00 p.m. until 4:00 am

For these provinces, access to beaches, rivers, and public spas is prohibited.

The provisions in the provinces of Panama and Panama Oeste include the restriction according to gender to access authorized commercial establishments.

That is to say, Monday, Wednesday and Friday women will be able to access establishments, while Tuesday and Thursday corresponds to men.

Adults over 60 years old and people with disabilities will be able to access the shops under the same specified parameters, according to their gender, and they can be accompanied by their carer, regardless of their gender.

While banks may allow people to access their establishments without distinction of gender on Fridays.

As of 5:01 am on February 1, the document states, the retail trade will be able to operate in person, beauty parlors and barber shops, and Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Centers.
