Deaths from the new coronavirus in Panama increased to 2,099 for this Monday, September 7, with a total of 13 new deaths and the country maintains a case fatality rate of 2.15%.
The Ministry of Health of Panama (
Minsa) reported that the number of confirmed cases rose to 97,578, of which 535 correspond to new infections.
The epidemiological report indicates that to date some 70,247 people have recovered and 25,232 active cases are registered, of which 23,996 are in home isolation, of which 23,592 are at home and 404 in hotels, hospitals.
In addition, there are 1,236 hospitalized patients, of which 1,093 people are in the ward and 143 remain in the intensive care unit.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,290 tests have been carried out to detect
COVID-19 and the percentage of positivity in the country remains at 16%.
