CSS has received 1,600 requests for exceptional maternity payments, delivery of documents is due this Saturday
Insured women who are pregnant or who have already given birth, with suspended employment contracts, have until July 31, 2021 to make their requests.
The executive director of Economic Benefits of the Social Security Fund ( CSS ), Didimo Barrios reported that they have received 1,600 requests for exceptional maternity payments to insured workers who had suspended employment contracts, registered with the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (Mitradel ), due to the pandemic.
He indicated that to date, 40 to 50% of the payment has been worked and delivered through Law 201 of February 25, 2021 that stipulates the exceptional maternity allowance, which are being paid in the CSS agencies that corresponds to each insured.
Among the documents that you must submit to the CSS agencies to request this benefit are:
- Original of pregnancy certificate
- Mitradel certification “that there was a suspended contract”.
Barrios reiterated that the insured pregnant or who have already given birth and who are within this circumstance, have until July 31, 2021 to make their requests to access this right.
It should be noted that in 2020, $38,816,473 were paid to 11,505 pregnant women, through Law 51 of December 27, 2005.
