COVID-19 vaccination in circuits 3-1 and 3-2 begins on Wednesday

COVID-19 vaccination in circuits 3-1 and 3-2 begins on Wednesday

This phase of vaccination against COVID-19 is aimed at adults over 60 years of age, pregnant women and teachers in the province of Colón circuits 3-1 and 3-2, starting Wednesday June 2, 2021.

Starting this Wednesday, June 2, the application of vaccines against COVID-19 will begin to adults over 60 years of age, pregnant women and teachers who work in circuits 3-1 and 3-2 of the province of Colón.

Itzel de Hewitt, coordinator of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), indicated that the vaccination of 36 thousand people is planned at the beginning of phase 2 in this sector of the country.

According to Itzel de Hewitt, Panama has 14% coverage with second doses and 35% application of first doses in the population.

The health authorities announced that for the months of July, August and September the country will be receiving a large number of doses of the vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer.

They urge the population of the province of Colón to be vaccinated against COVID-19, due to the great impact that the application of doses has caused in the areas where it has been intervened.

Until yesterday, Monday, the Expanded Immunization Program of the Ministry of Health (MInsa), had reported that 1 million 071,998 doses against COVID-19 have already been applied in Panama.

The National Government reiterates to the population not to lower their guard, avoid crowds and maintain biosecurity measures despite being immunized.

It is important that the population is registered and verified on the platforms enabled by the National Government so that they are notified of the day, time and place where the dose will be applied.
