The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Panama increased to 101,041, after registering a total of 711 new infections, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on Saturday, September 12.
He adds that for today there are 15 new deaths, raising the number of deaths from the new
coronavirus to 2,155, maintaining a case fatality rate of 2.1%.
The epidemiological report details that to date 1,276 hospitalized patients have been registered, which are divided into 1,118 people in the ward and 158 remain in the intensive care unit.
On the other hand, 73,476 recovered patients are counted and a total of 25,410 cases that remain active, of which 24,134 are in home isolation, 23,579 in their homes and 555 are in hospital hotels.
A total of 5,196 tests to detect the virus have been carried out in the last 24 hours, yielding a percentage of positivity of 13.7%.
To date, 394,728 tests have been carried out and Panama has managed to reach 92,259 tests per million inhabitants.
Regarding the number of deaths according to age group, it indicates that in those under 20 there are 20 deaths; from 20 to 39 they count 111; from 40 to 59 there are 466; From 60 to 79, 1,017 were registered and in those over 80 there were 541 deaths.
While regarding the number of cases according to age group, it indicates that in those under 20 years there are 14,760 cases; from 20 to 39, 42,056 cases were registered; from 40 to 59 there are 30,571; from 60 to 79 they count 11,324; and in those over 80 there are 2,330 cases.
