The number of accumulated cases of coronavirus in Panama rose to 77,377 for this Wednesday, August 12, after registering 913 new infections.
Likewise, the number of deaths linked to
COVID-19 increased to 1,703, of which 23 are new deaths. The fatality rate remains at 2.2% in the country.
The Ministry of Health (
Minsa) reported for today that 51,597 recovered patients are registered and there are a total of 24,077 cases that remain active, 21,814 are in home isolation and 589 are in hospital hotels.
On Wednesday 1,512 hospitalized patients are counted in the ward, while 162 are kept in intensive care units.
A total of 2,806 tests to detect
COVID-19 have been carried out in the last 24 hours, of which 32.5% were positive.
To date, 258,224 tests have been carried out and Panama has managed to reach 60,353 tests per million inhabitants.
Regarding the number of deaths according to age group, it indicates that 17 deaths are registered in those under 20; from 20 to 39 they count 90; from 40 to 59 there are 387; From 60 to 79, 798 are registered and in those over 80 there are 411 deaths.
While regarding the number of cases according to age group, it indicates that in those under 20 years there are 9,898 cases; from 20 to 39, 32,828 cases were registered; from 40 to 59 there are 24,148; from 60 to 79 they count 8,728; and in people over 80 there are 1,775 cases.
