Deaths from the new coronavirus in Panama increased to 1,591, while the number of confirmed positive cases rose to 72,560, reported the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
On Friday, August 7, 1,142 new infections of
COVID-19 and 17 new deaths are reported, with a fatality rate of 2.2%.
To date, 46,675 recovered people have been registered, while 24,294 cases remain active, of which 22,069 remain in home isolation at home and 586 are in hospital hotels.
There are currently a total of 1,483 ward hospital patients and 156 are in intensive care units.
To date, a total of 244,280 tests have been carried out to detect
COVID-19, of which 169,495 were negative, with a positivity rate of 35%.
Panama has managed to reach 57,094 tests per million inhabitants.
Regarding the number of deaths according to age group; under 20 there are 16 deaths; from 20 to 39 they count 86; from 40 to 59 there are 364; From 60 to 79, 746 were registered and in those over 80 there were 379 deaths.
Regarding the number of cases according to age group, he points out that there are 9,022 cases in those under 20 years of age; from 20 to 39, 31,005 cases were registered; from 40 to 59 there are 22,765; from 60 to 79 they count 8,158; and in those over 80 there are 1,610 cases
