May 4, a total of 7,387 cases of the new coronavirus were registered by the Ministry of Health (Minsa), of which 190 are new cases. Total deaths rise to 203.
The national director of Epidemiology of the
Minsa, Lourdes Moreno, said during the daily press conference report
Covid-19 developments that 3,574 people are in home isolation and 381 patients are hospitalized.
1,070 are currently in hospital hotels, 288 in the ward, and 93 in intensive care units.
The
Minsa report also disclosed that there are 2,503 clinically recovered patients, who do not present any symptoms.
Moreno indicated that total 35,556 people have been tested. 27,145 test results came back negative and 8,411 positive.
Rosario Turner, Minister of Health, said that on Monday, May 4, a large number of people were reported in supermarkets who did not keep the physical distance required to prevent the spread of
COVID-19.
Turner announced that as a result of this situation, as of May 5, they will be carrying out operations to verify compliance with regulations to stop the spread of the new
coronavirus and thus reduce the effective reproduction rate.
The Minister of Health explained that for a gradual lifting of the quarantine in the country, not only the number of confirmed cases of
COVID-19 is taken into account, but also other parameters such as the number of effective reproduction, lethality and response capacity of the health system.
