This pack of hyenas in govt right now cannot seem to make one useful decision. Tragic. Panama has so much more to offer than, for example, Costa Rica, but the opportunity is squandered in the abject ignorance of its political leadership.

Check return tourism, tourists to come to Panama are unlikely to come back for a second visit. Wonder why? (not really)

I almost get the idea that it is better to come into Panama as an illigal immigrant than go through a PAINFUL process to visit the country as a regular tourist. When driving to David one can see for themselves that nothing is done in regard to solving the illigal immigrant problem but to top it tourists are now the ones that will pay the price for this government's latest completely nonesense law. Tourists will not want to be treated like that and will rather go to Costa Rica or Aruba.

Though these new laws might be aimed against the illegal immigration of the usual-suspected-countries (Venezuela, Colombia, Nicaragua)...they will have an immense impact on the Tourism in general.
Panama has some nice areas, yes. But they are far away from being a "Tourist Destination" in the classical understanding (incl. working Infrastructure, Transport, Services etc.)
Now with these new laws, why should one think at all in coming here for "holidays"? Go to Mexico...No masks, no tests, Freedom...Better Infrastructure, Better Beaches, Better Food...Better all (from a tourist point of view).

If this governnment here, no matter which parties-clown sits on top, will continue to keep shooting bullets in their own knees...there will be nothing more left of this country.

Ask ANYONE in Europe what they know about Panama.....Its NOT the canal.
The first 3 things they say are: 1) Panama Papers 2) Bananas 3) Canal
