María Inés Castillo, Minister of Social Development of Panama, explained that after the collection day was over, the process of packing and packing the donations began.
Castillo said that the humanitarian cargo will be transported to the Tocumen International Airport and will be sent to Haiti this Tuesday, August 17, through a Chilean Air Force plane.
In addition to these donations, humanitarian aid will also be sent by the National Government such as canned food, water, medicine and tents, the Minister of Social Development explained.
She reiterated that the collection center was only enabled this Monday.
A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck southwestern Haiti last Saturday and more than 1,400 deaths have been reported so far.
