While the health teams in the province of Chiriquí are prepared for the second phase of vaccination against Covid-19 and the health authorities of the region have been able to feel a slight decrease in cases, behavior attributed to the fact that the health personnel, bedridden patients and people with disabilities.
According to Gladys Novoa, regional director of the Ministry of Health (
Minsa) they are coordinated with the Social Security Fund and specified that it is estimated to inoculate 70,000 people over 60 years old and for this 117 vaccination, the activity involves the mayors and representatives of the township, to reach the entire population
"We will start the days in the circuits with the highest population density, we will be providing the teams with all the supplies, taking into account the amount verified in the vaccination centers, so that the day is a complete success," said Novoa.
For his part, José Daniel Saldaña, regional director of the Social Security Fund, indicated that these vaccination teams will be reinforced with administrative personnel from the entity, for the logistical support of the sessions (cleaning, public attention, among others).
While Juan Carlos Muñoz Franceschi, governor of Chiriquí, said that the provincial technical board has been involved in the activity, because there is greater logistics than in the first phase of vaccination.
Schools and vaccination centers have been set up throughout the region and they will work with registers to keep a record of the vaccinated population and follow up.
Meanwhile, the statistics in the Chiriquí province so far there is an accumulated of 37,597 people who have tested positive for
Covid-19, of which 613 people have died, active patients are 2,446 people, of which 96 are in hospitals, 2,303 in their homes and 47 are confined in the hospital hotel.
