CCIAP dice que la inversión extranjera será clave en la reactivación económica

CCIAP – foreign investment will be key in the economic reactivation

Foreign investment will be key in the economic reactivation in Panama in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, assured the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP).

In its Sunday statement La Cámara Opina, the union indicated that given the current economic crisis, strategies should be deepened to promote the country's maritime and air connectivity, as well as free zones and the international banking center, to attract investment.

All this must be protected, strengthened and, above all, kept away from any wrongdoing, including politics, the union said.

The CCIAP applauded initiatives such as the new Law that creates the Special Regime for the Establishment and Operation of Multinational Companies for the Provision of Services related to Manufacturing and the creation of the permanent residence program for qualified foreign investors.

But, he reiterated the call to the Government to make efficient use of the debt, prioritizing health and social needs, in addition to taking more serious measures to contain the State's operating expenses.
