Cabra sectors remain without water, Idaan will activate a contingency plan to supply
The Idaan will activate a contingency plan to supply water to the communities that do not have the service through sectorization and tank cars.
After a flood of a river was registered in the Cabra sector, the Cabra 2 water treatment plant remains out of operation. Given this, the National Aqueducts and Sewers Institute ( Idaan ) will activate a contingency plan to supply water to sectors that do not have the service.
This flood removed part of the base of the 16 ”conduction pipe, and caused an obstruction in the 10” adduction line, leaving without the supply of drinking water the sectors of: El Trébol 1, Los Jardines, Santa Rita, Santa Sofía, Los Duraznos, Monterrico, Calle 13, Nueva Esperanza, Sector 3 and 4, Cabra La Vieja and Llano de Jesús.
Technicians from the Tocumen Subregion cleaned the 10 "line and the 16" line; In the latter, it was determined that approximately 6 sections of pipe should be installed and reinforced.
According to the Idaan, the necessary logistics are organized to continue the work this Monday, August 23, with the support of the National Directorate of Operations.
The Idaan Metropolitan Management will activate a contingency plan to supply potable water to communities that do not have the service through sectorization and tank cars.
This measure will be maintained until the work is completed, which may be extended for several days depending on the complexity of the maneuvers and the conditions of the river.
