Body of a missing man is recovered in the Juan Díaz river
Sunday morning, rescuers from the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), managed to locate the body of a man reported missing in the waters of the Juan Díaz River.
After several hours of searching, rescuers in coordination with the Meritorious Fire Department and the National Police located the body of the 53-year-old man, at the height of the South Corridor.
According to the National Emergency Operations Center (COE), this man was yesterday Saturday, September 19, 2020, in the afternoon, in the Juan Díaz River (First Street of Chorrillito); however, when trying to cross to the shore was surprised by a strong stream of water.
Carlos Rumbo, General Director of Sinaproc regretted this incident and reiterated to the population to follow preventive measures, recalling that September is a month with more precipitations or rains, especially on the Pacific slope.
He reiterated that they maintain a warning of maximum tides in the Pacific until this Wednesday, September 23 and coinciding with the heavy rains could increase the levels of the rivers and cause floods.
