The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, announced that from the coming weekend onwards the discos, bars and canteens will be able to offer their products for sale but only through home delivery.
"Starting next Saturday, March 6, businesses such as bars, canteens and nightclubs will be able to sell their products exclusively, for now, through home delivery or delivery,"
Sucre said at a press conference.
This decision is made in light of the decrease in positive cases of
COVID-19 registered in recent weeks, as a result of the different restrictions implemented to mitigate the spread of the virus.
"The country with all its strategies and the proper conduct of the vast majority of Panamanians, we have managed to reduce these figures and we have had as a result an adequate control so far of the figures that we have been presenting,"
Sucre stressed.
It is worth mentioning that as of March 6, the lifting of the total quarantine will also take place on weekends in the provinces of Panama, Panama Oeste, Coclé, Herrera, Los Santos and Veraguas.
Likewise, the reopening of movie theaters, casinos and sports fields for recreational use, all with a capacity of 50% of their capacity, including their employees, will be allowed in order to avoid crowds, in Panama and West Panama.
However, the curfew remains in force throughout the national territory, from Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.
