After 6:15 pm this Thursday, Avenida Balboa was reopened, after being taken over by a group of young people, who maintained a closure for a few hours in the vicinity of the Comptroller General of the Republic and Urracá Park.
This, as a measure of protest by young people, is against some cases of corruption, alleged police abuse and Executive Decree No. 830, on benefits of the Panama Solidario plan.
The protesters, with banners and shouting slogans such as "Stop supporting the usual corrupt", blocked the six lanes, thus affecting vehicular traffic in that area.
Earlier, the company Mi Bus announced that due to the closure of the road near Plaza 5 de Mayo, they maintained detours from some routes along Avenida Justo Arosemena to Calle 50, to take the El Tornillo building.
