Bad weather in Bocas del Toro leaves 14 homes affected

At least 12 houses were counted affected in Bocas del Toro due to roof detachment, the other two were due to floods.
A total of 14 houses with structural damage was the result of bad weather in the province of Bocas del Toro in recent days, according to the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot).

According to a report from Miviot, in the Bastimento district, in the Bocas del Toro district, there are so far 12 houses affected by roof detachment, of which one is a total loss and the rest have partial structural damage.

While in the Nuevo Paraíso community, in the neighborhood of Barriada Guaymí, in Almirante, two residences were damaged by the floods, leaving one with a total loss and the other partial.

On the other hand, in the townships of Las Tablas, Guabito and Changuinola, families lost their belongings and furniture, due to the introduction of water into their homes.

As a preventive measure, several families were temporarily evacuated and housed in shelters located in Una Milla, Antonela, Teobroma, Inadeh, California and the Guabito Gymnasium.

The Technical Board of the province delivered donations of food bags to families in affected sectors.
