The Vice Minister of Health of Panama, Ivette Berrío, foresees that the country will receive around 60 thousand doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, in the coming Wednesday, March 17.

BioNTech vaccine, said Berrío in the Face to Face program.
She explained that this new shipment will be to continue with the process of vaccination to the population, "seeing this scenario we need to apply the second dose to health personnel at the government and private level, and go advanced in Phase 2 Stages 2A and 2B, (where there are those over 60 years old and the population between 16 and 59 years old with chronic diseases; in addition to teachers).
“With the new shipment we will advance in circuits 8-10 and then 8-7, and we will project ourselves to the entire educating population, we do the evaluation every week, studying what is the best scenario for our country, without forgetting the sick chronic that soon the vaccination of these citizens will begin”, said the Deputy Minister of Health.
Berrío considered that "each citizen needs to be vaccinated and it is important that they receive their first dose, but as we have been gradually receiving the charges, which forces us to prioritize, for now it is important to cover all health system personnel."
She reiterated that this Monday, March 15, the second dose of the
COVID-19
vaccine will be applied to health workers in the public and private system.
