Alleged new religious sect raise concern in the Ngäbe Buglé Region

The residents of the Llano Amador sector, in the Ngäbe Buglé Region, live with fear and concern, after acts of vandalism carried out by a supposed new religious sect.
According to the locals it is a small group who claim to be authorized by the local hierarchy to remove the men from the community.

They also demolished the houses of the elderly and the main cross where Mama Tatda was celebrated, for which the competent authorities have been asked to initiate investigations into these events.

Isaías Sánchez, a resident of the area, requested “freedom for those who practice the Mama Tatda religion (Mama: mother, Virgin Mary, Tatda: father, Jesus Christ).

The Public Ministry of Panama investigates several sects detected in the Ngäbe Buglé region, such as the one known in El Terrón and in the remote region of Ñürüm.
