A complaint filed for 'hacking' of the Mides computer system
A criminal complaint was filed this Monday before the Public Ministry by the legal team of the Ministry of Social Development of Panama (Mides), for the intervention of its computer system.
This was filed before the Special Prosecutor for Crimes against Intellectual Property and Computer Security.
Mides reported that since last Wednesday, January 6, several teams were compromised, disabling the servers where the national registry of beneficiaries of social programs aimed at vulnerable populations such as Red de Oportunidades, Ángel Guardián, 120 at 65 and Senapan bonus is located.
Although the payments of these benefits have not been suspended, the entity has not yet been able to fully regain control of its servers. The entity highlighted that the pre-established payment dates are maintained, ensuring that the first disbursement will be made in March.
The Mides Technology team, the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG) and specialized providers in computer security are working 24 hours a day to recover activities in order to restore the system, said Mides.
