Deaths from the new coronavirus in Panama increased this Friday to 266, while the number of confirmed cases rose to 9,268, with 150 new infections, as reported by the authorities of the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
During the update provided today, the
Minsa announced that from now on there will no longer be daily press conferences, but that epidemiological reports will be made through press releases that will be published in the official accounts of the National Government.
The head of epidemiology of the
Minsa, Lourdes Moreno, briefed on active
COVID-19 cases; 5,568 patients are in home isolation, 744 are in hotels, 281 are hospitalized in the ward and in intensive care units there are 73 patients.
In addition, a total of 6,080 clinically recovered cases have been registered.
She added that to date 47,768 tests have been carried out to detect
COVID-19, of which 36,821 have been negative and 10,947 were positive.
