Sustraen 700 pruebas rápidas para la Covid-19 en hospital de Chitré

700 Covid-19 rapid tests – worth $14,000 – stolen from a Chitré hospital

A total of 700 rapid antigen tests for the diagnosis of Covid-19, valued at approximately 14 thousand dollars, were stolen from the laboratory of the Gustavo Nelson Collado de Chitré hospital.
This was confirmed by Luis Rodríguez, institutional director of the Social Security Fund (CSS) of Herrera, by indicating that the lack of these inputs was detected since September.

Rodríguez explained that the hospital's medical management together with Legal Counseling and Human Resources initiated the investigations.

He reported that this complaint was also filed with the Public Ministry and the Prosecutor's Office is in the process of investigation.

The regional director of the CSS de Herrera indicated that audits were also requested from different departments of the Chitrean hospital, property managed by CSS.

The stolen tests were intended for hospital officials, he added.
