6.1 earthquake shakes several provinces and Panama City
The epicenter was south of Panama, the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1 and had a depth of 10 km, according to reports from the UP Institute of Geosciences.
After 3:55 pm this Saturday, an earthquake was registered in several parts of Panama.
According to official reports from the Institute of Geosciences of the University of Panama, the epicenter was in the south of the country, the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1 and it had a depth of 10 km.
The telluric movement was felt in the central provinces, Chiriquí, Aguadulce, Bocas del Toro, Panamá Oeste, Veraguas, Colón and the capital city.
The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), reported that so far no damage has been reported, however its team continues to monitor the areas where the earthquake registered this afternoon was perceived. The first report from the UP Institute of Geosciences reported that the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.4.
