Adolfo Gaffoglio, manager of the Ipsos poll, explained that 50% of Panamanians have had to make use of almost all their savings. Most are expected to only last two more months after more than six months of work suspensions.
3 out of 10 Panamanians have not been able to keep their responsibilities up to date, such as: payment of education, credit cards, mortgage payments; while 4 out of 10 increased their debts in recent months.
On the other hand, 7 out of 10 people in Panama have seen reductions in their income, either total or partial, which has significantly affected the economy in the country due to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
However, 7 out of 10 people are up to date with their payments, despite facing challenges in meeting them.
