On the morning of June 1, an earthquake was registered in the Panamanian Pacific.
The Institute of Geosciences of the University of Panama reported that the magnitude of the earthquake had been 6.1 with a depth of 10 km, however the revised official report indicates that the magnitude was 5.5 with a depth of 9 km.
The National Civil Protection System ( Sinaproc ) reported that through the Emergency Operations Center, it monitored the provinces near the epicenter of the seismic event and no effects were reported.
In the event of an earthquake, Sinaproc recommended that citizens remain calm, eliminate a source of fire, not use elevators, stay in security zones, get out of windows and objects that may fall, and locate an evacuation route.
