Vaccination against covid-19 for teachers and administrative staff is among the conditions established for the gradual return to blended classes.
The Minister of Education of Panama, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos confirmed that 43% of teachers nationwide are vaccinated against
covid-19.

Maruja Gorday de Villalobos said that some 500 schools with low enrollment are currently carrying out blended activities such as tutoring and accompaniment. Most of these schools are located in the provinces of Herrera, Los Santos, Coclé, and Panama Centro.
"The President (Laurentino Cortizo) has requested that both doses be covered, in this case we have almost forty-three percent of teachers nationwide vaccinated and of these schools more than thirty percent are vaccinated in a first stage", said Minister Maruja Gorday de Villalobos.
Recently, the Minister of Education said that 100 schools located in areas with low rates of
covid-19 infection will start blended classes and in a period of three months reach 500 schools.
“The most important thing is that as a country we are taking those steps that are being taken in the region with the minimum percentage of error, as long as the conditions for May 31 are in place, we know that this is very variable, however we are very We are encouraged with school certifications,” said Maruja Gorday de Villalobos.
