This Sunday, May 10, more than 250 Panamanians who were stranded in more than 14 countries in Europe, due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus, return to Panama on a humanitarian flight that departed from Spain.
"Good news, our Panamanians are already heading to Panama", reported the Panamanian Foreign Ministry through their Twitter account.
Upon arrival in the country, citizens will be subjected to all quarantine measures and sanitary protocols determined by the Ministry of Health (
Minsa).
The Foreign Ministry indicated that this humanitarian flight was authorized by the Ministry, after an analysis of the epidemiological situation in the country after five weeks of quarantine.
A team of experts will continue to carry out evaluations regarding the health system's capacity to handle the repatriation and quarantine process, to evaluate the possibility of authorizing additional humanitarian flights from other cities.
