23 cases of COVID-19 detected in an asylum in La Chorrera

Panama currently counts 452,598 cases of COVID-19, of which 436,285 have been recovered and 9,304 cases remain active.
A cluster of COVID-19 was detected in an asylum located in La Chorrera, in the province of Panamá Oeste, when 23 people tested positive for coronavirus.

There are 4 collaborators and 19 patients, according to the regional deputy director of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), Dalia Rodríguez, who indicated that currently those infected remain in isolation.

One of the infected people lost his life due to the diseases he suffered.

Currently Panama counts 452,598 cases of COVID-19, of which 7,009 have died, 436,285 have recovered and 9,304 cases remain active.

Despite the fact that Panama is in the process of vaccination against COVID-19, the use of masks continues to be essential as they represent protection above 80%.

They ask the population not to lower their guard, to go to the anticovid vaccination appointments and to keep the biosecurity measures.
