Deputy Raúl Pineda indicated that by 2022 they had requested $141 million, but the MEF recommended a decrease of $5 million.
Deputy Raúl Pineda, vice president of the Budget Commission of the National Assembly , confirmed this afternoon that the Ministry of Economy and Finance ( MEF ) approved a $135 million budget for this State Organ versus $141 million that they had requested for fiscal 2022.
"There is a decrease of $5 million. There is a confusion between the budget presented and the modified budget, the one presented was 141 (million) and the one that has just been approved is 135 (million), there is a decrease", Pineda indicated.
For 2021, initially a budget of $107 million was approved to the Assembly, however for the month of October 2020 the entity requested a loan for an amount of $22,883,289.00 for return 002, which added gives more than $129 million.
The 2021 budget of $129 million compared to the $135 million approved for 2022, reveal an increase of $6 million more granted to the Assembly, this despite the State of National Emergency due to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
